We ensure each visit is engaging, fun, and filled with fascinating insights into the world of alpacas.
We take pride in creating experiences that are both enjoyable and educational, making them perfect for families, animal lovers, and those looking for something truly special. Our expert team shares their extensive knowledge about alpaca care, behaviour, and the incredible fleece they produce, offering an unforgettable and immersive experience for all.
In addition to our experiences, we are passionate about the incredible fleece our alpacas produce. Known for its softness, warmth, and hypoallergenic qualities, alpaca wool is a luxurious and sustainable fibre. We take great pride in transforming this fleece into high-quality yarns and handcrafted products, available for purchase at the farm and through our shop. Whether you're a knitting enthusiast or looking for a unique gift, our alpaca wool products showcase the beauty and practicality of this amazing natural fibre.

Our Story
At Bowbridge Alpacas Scotland, our love for these gentle, curious animals has grown into a thriving family-run farm. Our journey began with a dream shared by Paul and Alison Johnson—though truth be told, it was also the perfect excuse for Paul to finally get a tractor! What started as a vision soon became a reality, and Bowbridge Alpacas was born.
Their daughter Sarah took this passion even further, travelling across Europe and South America to learn everything she could about alpacas. Immersing herself in the world of alpaca farming, she brought back invaluable knowledge and experience to help shape Bowbridge Alpacas into the haven it is today. As the farm grew, Sarah played a key role in developing the business and ensuring the highest level of care for our alpacas.
Today, the daily running of Bowbridge Alpacas is in the capable hands of Simon, Paul and Alison’s son. With a deep understanding of the animals and a commitment to their well-being, Simon ensures that everything runs smoothly, from feeding and healthcare to welcoming visitors who want to meet our alpacas and learn about their fascinating world.
Of course, we couldn’t do it all without our amazing team of volunteers. Their energy, enthusiasm, and love for the alpacas bring an extra layer of warmth to the farm. Whether helping with daily care, guiding visitors, or supporting special events, they are at the heart of what makes Bowbridge Alpacas such a special place.
Bowbridge Alpacas Scotland isn’t just a farm—it’s a family, a community, and a passion that we love sharing with others. We invite you to visit, meet our alpacas, and become a part of our story.
